  • Tuesday 7 June 2022 Instrumental Concerts Tuesday 24th May saw the return of our fantastic INSTRUMENTAL CONCERT, featuring 70 young musicians, 6 teachers, and an unlimited amount of musical talent and hard work. A massive well done to all of our brilliant, brave performers – watch this space for videos of our performances which will be made available to watch on the school website after half term.
  • Tuesday 24 May 2022 Cycle League News On Friday 11th February, Leo, Hafsah, Chinenye, Coco C, Hector G, Albert, Tom, Eesa, Rafe, Pepa, Purdy and Isla (from years 4 and 5) participated in the Circuit Race at Mabley Green.
  • Saturday 21 May 2022 Schools' Challenge 2022 On Saturday, children from years 1 - 6 ran in the Hackney Half Marathon School’s Challenge. It was a fantastic turn out with over 90 taking part! They all had a great day in the sunshine and received a medal for their efforts. Thank you to Rushmore staff who gave up their Saturday to support and run alongside the children.
  • Friday 20 May 2022 Year 5's Busy Week This week year 5 have had lots of fun on trips. On Monday, we went to the Tate Britain to look at the work of Henry Moore and other World War II artists. This was followed by a short visit to the park.
  • Wednesday 18 May 2022 Year 4 Aquathon Teleema, Ejaz, Timothy, Willow, Henry and Manal from year 4 went to Clissold Pool to take part in the Aquathlon event on Wednesday 18th May. They took part in events that included swimming with a noodle and float and even had to retrieve items from the bottom of the pool!
  • Monday 2 May 2022 Year 5 PGL Residential Trip The Year 5 children had a lovely time at PGL. They showed lots of resilience and determination throughout the trip, whilst conquering their fears. When taking part in water-based activities, they enjoyed the challenge of staying dry throughout and some children rewarded themselves by jumping in the lake afterwards. They took part in lots of activities, these included climbing, zip wire, giant swing, raft building, archery and the dreaded trapeze.

  • Thursday 28 April 2022 Spring Concerts 2022 How wonderful it was to have all the children and parents in the Elderfield hall to share the first in person spring concerts since March 2019!!

  • Wednesday 30 March 2022 Easter Bonnet Parade The nursery and reception children looked absolutely adorable in their Easter Bonnets on Wednesday morning. They treated parents and carers to a medley of Easter themed songs and paraded to show off their bonnet creations. Well done to the parents who supported their children with the magnificent, creative bonnets.
  • Tuesday 29 March 2022 Spring House Afternoon Well done to this term's house competition winners, Zircon. Zircon pupils enjoyed a trip to Kidzmania as their reward for accumulating the most house points this term. Meanwhile, back in school, the other houses had a back to normal house afternoon taking part in fun drama, storytelling, music art and sports activities. It was so lovely to see the children mixing across year groups again.

  • Friday 25 March 2022 Music Hall Fun Year 2 finished their term’s music project on Songs of the Hackney Music Halls with a magical journey back in time, as we transformed their classrooms to an authentically raucous Music Hall, complete with food and drink, lively singing, and dancing in the aisles.
  • Friday 25 March 2022 Growing in Nursery We have been learning about 'Growth' as part of Science Week in nursery, growing cress seeds and watching the spring bulbs that we planted in autumn blossom.
  • Friday 18 March 2022 Cherry Blossoms at Brook's Farm On Tuesday, Cherry Blossom went to Brooks Farm, it was our first time going on a bus as a class and everyone was so sensible! We saw all sorts of farm animals including Barry the Turkey and Luna the Pony. The children got to stroke and feed many of the animals. Afterwards, we had our lunch and played on the play equipment in the park next to the farm. We were so lucky with the weather; it was sunny all day!
  • Thursday 17 March 2022 Year 5 Space Assembly Year 5 treated upper phase pupils and their families to another fantastically educational and entertaining assembly this week. They demonstrated how much they have learned about their topic and kept us all engaged with their 'Who Wants To Win A Million House Points' Quiz.
  • Thursday 17 March 2022 St Patrick's Day Ceilidh The Upper Phase children marked St Patrick's Day by starting their day with a fun Ceilidh in the Elderfield Hall. It was an energetic start to the day led by our in house Ceilidh caller, Dafydd.
  • Thursday 17 March 2022 Year 2 at Cadogan Hall On Monday 14th March Year 2 travelled all the way to Cadogan Hall to take part in a concert about the Great Fire of London. They had a fantastic time learning about some unusual instruments and singing along with theRoyal Philharmonic Orchestra.

  • Friday 25 February 2022 Hackney Schools' Basketball Competition Kaiden, Mia, Keyon, Diogo, Cato and Latika from years 5 and 6 attended a basketball competition on Wednesday. They were unlucky with how their group was drawn - facing St. Monica’s and Daubeney, who are experienced basketballers. Unfortunately, they lost to both teams and proceeded to the fun league.

  • Friday 11 February 2022 Year 4 Enjoying The Orchestra Year 4 enjoyed a brilliant trip to Leyton Great Hall to see the Apollo Orchestra perform a number of gorgeous pieces of music.
  • Friday 11 February 2022 Hackney Half Team 98 Days to go the Hackney Half and training is underway. With the addition of five more recruits, the team is now complete. The picture below is some of the team heading out on a training run.
  • Friday 11 February 2022 Chinese New Year Celebrations in Nursery The nursery children have been immersing themselves in all things related to Chinese New year this week. They read about the animals associated with each new year and ran their own race, made dragon masks and lanterns and worked hard to master the use of chopsticks!
  • Friday 11 February 2022 Year 3 Victorian School Day The Year 3 children thoroughly enjoyed a full day of being in a Victorian Classroom. There were fantastic costumes, very strict teachers, writing of lines, wearing dunces hats ( suprisingly a popular activity!) and lots more. They were able to bring to life all of their learning from this term about life for children in Victorian times. Don't be fooled by the serious faces- they are very good actors. The novelty may have worn off after a few days of this regime.
  • Wednesday 9 February 2022 Urban Debate League- Round 1 Last Thursday (03/02/2022), our year 6 debaters took part in their first ever debating competition against schools from all across London. They had a fantastic time and won 4 out of the 6 debates they took part in. They are currently placed 2nd out of all the London schools taking part and 8th against all the schools taking part nationally. Pretty Impressive, well done to you all!
  • Tuesday 1 February 2022 RSPB Big Bird Watch On Friday January 28th the ECO Committee took part in the 'Big Bird Watch' run by the RSPB. We bird watched close to the canal for about an hour and here are our results:
